Thanksgiving In Las Vegas, Fremont Street

We had a great Thanksgiving meal at Jo and Lons'. The following are some of the pictures from a great meal!

Here's the table.

Table for six included Floyd and Peggy.

Sue (Her husband was busy with the camera).

Jo

Lon

Cabbage Rolls

Home made buns and Candy's Lefse

Stuffing

Turkey and freshly made potato sausage

Mashed potatoes

Sweet Potatoes

Seems like a lot of food for six people. As you can see it was. We've been working on leftovers last night, noon today and also this afternoon. We are so lucky to celebrate with Jo & Lon, Peggy and Floyd.

Downtown Las Vegas

This morning we went to downtown Las Vegas (Fremont Street). Lon had a few things to do at the Golden Gate Casino and Mary Jo had a few things to do at Caesar's Palace. So here are a few pictures from this morning.

This is just a random shot looking into a casino from Fremont street - no doors. I don't think you could do this in Minnesota now.

A little further down Fremont street is the venerable, "Binions".

The Golden Nugget has just added a huge salt water aquarium.

This casino is right on the corner of Fremont and Main.

Some years ago we would stay at the Plaza. It's located on the northwest end of Fremont.

If I turn 180 degrees from the previous picture, you get this one looking east southeast down Fremont. This day and time of day as well as this week is a very quiet time. It is normally much busier that what this pictures shows. The cage on the right is where two guys on motorcycles drive around on the inside of the sphere. They only run into each other occasionally.

This in front of the Golden Gate Casino on the corner of Fremont and Main. This is where Lon works. The casino is known for it's shrimp coctail. Since 1959 they have served over 30 million of these.

We are enjoying every day out here. Going for walks, a little gambling, went out for breakfast this morning, playing cards and watching football.
Hope you are all doing well.
Bob & Sue
